Board-certified psychiatrist Mojeed Akintayo, MD, uses his 30 years of experience and considerable expertise to help the people of Greensboro, North Carolina, manage and overcome their mental health problems. At the Neuropsychiatric Care Center, Dr. A, as he likes to be called, focuses on delivering evidence-based mental health services and reducing behavioral disorder stigma.
Dr. A began his career at the College of Medicine, Lagos State University in Nigeria. He completed his general psychiatry training at Harlem Hospital Center in Harlem, New York City, affiliated with the Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons.
Dr. A attended the State University of New York (SUNY) Downstate College of Medicine Kings County Hospital Center in Brooklyn, New York City, for his fellowship training in child and adolescent psychiatry.
Dr. A was previously an associate psychiatrist for adult, child, and adolescent inpatient services at Hall-Brooke Behavioral Services in Westport, Connecticut, and a clinical assistant instructor in child and adolescent psychiatry at SUNY Downstate Medical Center.
He’s treated inmates at the New York City Department of Corrections Rikers Island and was associate medical director at Coastal Carolina Neuropsychiatric Center in Jacksonville, North Carolina.
Dr. A’s areas of interest and expertise include mood disorders, anxiety disorders, women’s mental health problems, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), autism spectrum disorder (ASD), depressive disorder, psychosis, and bipolar disorder. He is highly skilled in treating psychiatric conditions across all ages.
